Firearms dealer licenses
- You can get a firearms dealer license only from a law enforcement agency.
- You must be a licensed firearms dealer to sell firearms (wholesale or retail).
- It can take 30 to 60 days to receive your license.
- Your license is valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
Firearms stores and businesses
- If you plan to open an additional store or move an existing store, contact a law enforcement agency. They'll help you get an additional or replacement dealer license.
- All employees who sell firearms at your store must undergo fingerprinting and a background check.
